Many of you have asked me how to clean your yoga mat. Many yoga mats can be thrown in the washing machine (no detergent) and hung dry, but not if you have a Manduka or Jade. If you'd rather wipe your mat down, here's an awesome, organic cleaner that smells good and won't harm your mat. Actually, this cleaner is good for EVERYTHING - from yoga mats to bathrooms to windows. Here you go!

 

32 Ounce Plastic Spray Bottle

15 Drops Thieves Oil (I prefer Young Living)

1.5 Tablespoons Dr. Bronner's

Water

 

Mix everything in the spray bottle. That's it. Clean away ...

It's the highest honor to lead yoga classes. Most of the time, classes are enhanced with music. Music rocks me - it reminds me to move my energy, find new patterns of movement, flow with the pulse and watch my reactions. A yoga retreat is a beautiful coming together of people, energy, intention and travel experiences. Our recent trip to Zoetry Agua in The Dominican Republic was no exception. Twice daily yoga, afternoon fruit baskets and bottles of champagne, fresh cut coconuts at every class and the best group of women that could possibly came together made this retreat exceptional.

How is the state of your heart?

Why do so many of us equate busy-ness with success or being of value? Why are relaxation and enjoyment considered luxuries? I don't know about you all but, as far as I know, I only get one shot at this thing called life. I won't apologize for enjoying it fully, relaxing, treating myself really well and engaging fully in HOLY YES, SACRED NO.
 

In the past, I've found myself overscheduling everything - work, play, my kids' time. Perhaps it was a fear of missing out. Perhaps I was aligning with cultural values that are completely un-aligned with my own core values. Who knows. I do know that it's over now.
